The AC/Power card system will be carried out on December 2, 2024
Dear residents,
Here is the information about the AC card, for your reference:
1. The schedule for implementing the AC cards.
- Students can purchase and top up AC cards on November 5.
- The staff will set up the card-reader in each room on December 2, once setup is complete, the system will be officially activated.
- You can find the detailed operation manual in the attached.
2. What should I do if the AC card is damaged but still has money left on it?
- Students should take the damaged card to the nearest dormitory service station or Campus Housing Service Division office to register both online (https://reurl.cc/oyk0XD) and on paper .
- Then, on the next business day, bring the newly purchased card and damaged card (note: if the card is lost, balance transfer is not possible) to the CHSD office for balance transfer. The balance will be calculated according to the following formula:
Formula: Most recent top-up balance - [(Date of reporting at dorm service station or office) - (Top-up date)] × 100. If the top-up and damage occur within 24 hours of each other, the entire balance will be transferred.
Example: If the most recent top-up was on October 1st with a balance of NT$1000, and the card malfunctions on October 3rd, reported the same day, then the calculation would be 1000 - [(Oct.3 – Oct.1) × 100] = NT$800, and NT$800 will be transferred to the new card. If reported on 10/4, NT$700 would be transferred.
3. How do I request a refund of the remaining balance on the AC card?
Please note the following issues,
- Refunds are only available to the Chunghwa Post office accounts. If students don’t have the Post account, they may use a friend or relative's account instead (however, you must provide their name and ID number).
- Refund processing is done once per semester by the CHSD at the end of the semester. Then, students will receive the refund at the beginning of the following semester.
- Refund applications are accepted during business hours from 9:00–11:30 and 14:00–16:00. Please fill out the refund form (https://reurl.cc/yvd7Oq) and visit the CHSD office at the scheduled time to confirm the balance and card information. Refunds will be processed in batches.
4. International students are advised to assess the feasibility of applying for a refund based on their departure time from Taiwan.
Those without a post office account or who will be leaving Taiwan at the end of the semester will not receive a refund. Therefore, please avoid overloading the card balance or consider transferring the card to someone else before leaving Taiwan.
