Communal Kitchen Rules & Guidelines
To keep the communal kitchen clean, safe, and pleasant space for everyone, please follow these guidelines.
1. Hours of Operation
- Opening hours: 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM
- Please do not use the kitchen during non-operating hours to avoid disturbing other residents.
2. Cleanliness: User’s Responsibility
- Clean Up Immediately: Users are required to clean up immediately after cooking and eating.
- Wash & Store: Wash, dry, and put away all dishes, cookware, and utensils.
- Wipe Surfaces: Wipe down all countertops, stovetops, appliances, and any spills on the floor.
- Trash & Recycling: Dispose of all food scraps and garbage in the designated bins. Make sure lids are closed to prevent pests and odors.
3. Safety First
- Cooking: NEVER leave cooking unattended.
- Prohibited Items:
- NO open flames (e.g., gas burners, alcohol stoves, charcoal).
- NO personal extension cords.
- NO cooking in dorm rooms.
- Appliances:
- Only use the approved kitchen appliances provided (electric stove, microwave, oven, electric pot).
- Please use the designated outlets for high-power appliances.
- Emergencies: If you notice any safety issues (e.g., sparking wires, smoke, strange smells), report them to the dormitory staff immediately.
- Consequences: Creating a fire risk or violating safety rules will result in disciplinary action, up to and including dormitory eviction.
4. Food Storage & Personal Items
- Label Everything: All personal food items in the refrigerator must be clearly labeled with your Name and Room Number.
- Monthly Clean-Out: The refrigerator is cleaned out regularly each month on the announced date. Unlabeled or expired items will be discarded without notice.
5. Maintenance & Repairs
If an appliance is not working correctly, please submit a repair request online or scan the QR code.

6. Violations
- All rules will be enforced in accordance with the "Guidelines on Management of Student Dormitory".
